This page arrives with the range already filled in, so the common case takes one tap instead of three. There are 6 possible outcomes and each one carries a 16.67 percent chance, including both endpoints — 1 and 6 are part of the range, not excluded from it.
Because 6 rarely divides evenly into the power-of-two blocks a computer works with, this is exactly where the classic rounding mistake appears. A generator that simply takes the remainder after division will quietly favour the lower part of the range. We use rejection sampling instead, so all 6 values stay exactly equal.
