About the 1 to 10 range
This page arrives with the range already filled in, so the common case takes one tap instead of three. There are 10 possible outcomes and each one carries a 10 percent chance, including both endpoints — 1 and 10 are part of the range, not excluded from it.
Because 10 rarely divides evenly into the power-of-two blocks a computer works with, this is exactly where the classic rounding mistake appears. A generator that simply takes the remainder after division will quietly favour the lower part of the range. We use rejection sampling instead, so all 10 values stay exactly equal.
