A draw your audience cannot argue with
Every giveaway organiser eventually meets the same comment: "how do we know you didn't just pick your friend?" It is a fair question, and no amount of promising helps, because the audience has no way to tell an honest draw from a staged one. The answer is not a better promise. It is a record that exists outside your control.
That is what this tool produces. When you press the button, the draw happens on our server, not in your
browser — and the result is written down and signed with a secret key at that same moment. You get a link
like /v/iy1fjIaQ that anyone can open to see the number, the range, the exact second of the draw
and the signature. Change any of it afterwards and the signature stops matching, which the proof page says
out loud.
How this differs from the number generator
The random number generator gives you a value from a range, which is enough when your entrants are numbered and nobody is going to dispute the result. The job here is different: the input is a list of real people and the output is not just a number but a record you can show your audience. That is why this page has list paste, duplicate removal, ordered reserves and a verification page the plain generator does not have.
For a friendly draw with a token prize it is quicker to take a random number from 1 to 100 and announce the comment number. When the prize is real and the audience is large, the difference between "I picked fairly" and "here is the link, check it" is the whole game.
How to run it
There are two ways, depending on how your entries are organised.
By number. Number your entrants — comment order, spreadsheet row, ticket number, whatever you already have. Set the range, draw, and announce the winning number together with the proof link. This is the fastest option and the one to use on a live stream.
By name list. Paste the list of entrants, one per line. Duplicate entries can be removed in one tap, which matters when people comment twice to improve their odds. The tool picks your winners and, if you asked for them, reserves in order — useful when the first winner never replies.
In list mode the names never leave your device. Only a fingerprint of the list is sent, computed in your browser. Publish that fingerprint before the draw and you have proof the list was not edited afterwards: adding or removing a single entry changes the fingerprint completely.
Your history stays in your browser
Past draws are listed under the tool, and that list lives in your browser's local storage — not in an account, because there are no accounts here. We cannot see your history, we do not link draws to you, and clearing site data erases it. The individual proof pages keep working, because those are public records by design; they simply are not tied to your name.
Reserves, repeats and the awkward cases
A prize draw has edge cases that pure randomness does not solve for you. The winner goes quiet for a week. Someone entered under two names. A winner turns out to be ineligible. Drawing reserves up front handles all three: you have an ordered fallback list, drawn at the same moment and recorded in the same signed entry, so moving to the next name does not require a second draw that people will question.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly does the proof link prove?
That the result you announced is the result the server produced, at the second it says, for the range or entry count it says. The record is signed with a key that only the server holds, so editing the number, the range or the timestamp afterwards breaks the signature and the proof page reports the mismatch.
Do you see the names of my entrants?
No. In list mode the draw is performed on your device and only a fingerprint of the list plus the winning names are sent for the record. The full list never leaves your browser.
Where is my draw history stored?
In your browser local storage only. There is no account and nothing on our side links a draw to you. Clear your site data and the history is gone, though the individual proof links keep working.
Can I run the draw without the protected mode?
Yes, switch the toggle off and the draw happens entirely in your browser with no record and no proof link. That is fine for picking who makes the coffee, and a bad idea when there is a prize.
Why draw reserves?
Because winners disappear. Reserves are drawn in the same moment and written into the same signed record, so when the first winner never replies you move to the next name without running a second draw that people will treat as suspicious.
What if someone entered twice?
Use Remove duplicates before the draw. It collapses identical lines, so a person who commented three times gets one chance rather than three.
